Discover the dried Hornindal yeast: A thermotolerant Kveik yeast strain from Norway.

WHC Lab's Hornindal yeast originates from the Hornindal region in Norway and belongs to the esteemed Kveik family. Similar to other Kveik strains like Voss, this thermotolerant yeast thrives at higher temperatures and promotes the production of tropical fruit esters. It is particularly suitable for brewing dark beer styles such as Imperial Stouts.

Ideal for IPAs and Pale Ales, with delightful notes of mandarin, pineapple, and mango.
Characterized by fast fermentation and high flocculation at high temperatures.
Origin: Kveik isolate from the Hornindal region in Norway.

Usage Guidelines:

Dried Hornindal yeast should be pitched at a higher temperature range compared to other brewing yeasts. The recommended fermentation temperature is above 28°C but should not exceed 37°C.
When combined with other yeast strains, a low pitching rate should be considered.
Like other Kveik yeasts, it benefits from a double dose of nutrients.
Oxygenation and/or rehydration for generation zero are not strictly necessary but can be beneficial.
