Maischen / Läutern
Beim Einmaischen wird das geschrotete Malz mit Wasser versetzt, um die Stärke aus dem Malz in Lösung zu bringen, damit sie mit Enzymen in Zucker umgewandelt werden kann. Beim anschließendem Läutern wird der Treber (feste Maischebestandteile) von der Würze (flüssige Maischebestandteile) getrennt. Die Trennung kann durch Sedimentation oder Filter von statten gehen.
