This bottom fermenting type of yeast from Bavaria is characterized by its wide temperature range. It ferments clean, fresh with good flocculation and minimal diacetyl production. Malty beer styles in particular succeed with it, including dark beers and Märzen.

The yeast can be used for direct pitch. But if you are brewing more than 19 liter, the wort is over 17°P or the yeast pack is older than 4 months, it's recommended to make a yeast starter.
