The Grainfather is an all-in-one brewing system for the mashing process
The elegant appearance, user-friendly and intuitive design, and innovative features make the Grainfather the perfect brewing system for beginners and experienced brewers alike.
The Grainfather is made of high quality stainless steel and has a capacity of 30 liters, which is designed to produce up to 23 liters of brew.
It is electrically operated and therefore has been designed for indoor use.
The Grainfather has been equipped with a controlled heating element, thus ensuring that you always have the temperatures you need at your various stages of the brewing process.
At certain stages of your brewing process, less heat is used to prevent your mash from scorching.
Heating higher temperature water often only takes up to 2 minutes.
Control Box to control heat and power:
To ensure the ultimate brewing experience you can connect your Connect Control Box to the Grainfather Community App.
The Control Box has a Bluetooth connection so you can use your smartphone to control and constantly monitor the Grainfather through the app.
Your app will notify you when the next stage of your brewing process is due.
The control box has a PID algorithm in conjunction with a triac for a more stable connection to the controller.
Mash stages are programmable. With the control box you can set when your water should reach the desired temperature.
You can use the control box in manual mode or with the Grainfather app.
The graphic display is waterproof and the Control Box can be set in both Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Grainfather Community App:
The Grainfather app has recipes which you can easily find.
You also have the ability to create, upload and or import your own recipes.
Note: to use the app you need an iPhone/iPad - iPhone 4s or newer with iOS 8 or higher software.
The use with Android works with Android 4.3 or higher.
The end devices must be equipped with the Bluetooth Low Energy (LE)/ Bluetooth Smart.
For a maximum brewing experience, a 6 watt, 1.8 rpm magnetically driven pump has been installed in the Grainfather.
The pump is also used during the cooling phase to cool the hot wort. Likewise, the pump can be cleaned easily and quickly as the cleaning agent can flow through the piping.
The magnetic pump has undergone rigorous testing to ensure that it is suitable for the requirements of brewing.
A stainless steel cover, which is easy to open, allows direct access to the pump.
Inside the Grainfather is a pump filter that prevents hops and spent grains from entering the pump or piping.
This keeps the wort clear and prevents clogging.
Spent grains basket:
The extended spent grains basket made of stainless steel allows the use of 4.5 kg - 9 kg of malt.
The built-in perforated plates and telescopic tubes make it easy to adjust the size of the spent grains basket.
For grain pours under 4.5 kg, the Micro Pipework (sold separately) must be attached.
A basket handle facilitates lifting of the spent grains basket.
The wort cooler has two connections which are connected to the Grainfather on the one hand, and to a cold water tap on the other.
The hot wort is pumped through an inner copper spiral, while the cold water is pumped in the opposite direction through the outer spirals.
The cooled wort can then be pumped directly into the clean, sterile fermentation vessel.
23 liters can be cooled in just 2 minutes.
The temperature of the chilled wort is approximately 5 degrees above the temperature of tap water.
